Casa Mezcal Cocktails
Highly recommend the Mezcal Rouge, a delicious concoction rimmed with Junior Merino"s Hibiscus salt, Mezcal Joven, cactus pear, lime juice and agave nectar. A top pick of our bartnder, second to his first choice, Ixc tlan, actually designed by one of the staff he claimed. A delicious bright green blend of Mezcal Joven, basil, agave nectar, pineapple, Serrano peppers, St. Germain, and lime juice. It has a bit of a kick and is delicioso!

Surprise girls night out!
Firstly, run to BOOM BOOM BROW BAR for a wax and a tint. they do it all! Propriortess Melynda run this great vibe salon and has a mucho fabulous staff. You will become a loyal customer after just one visit... there's no place like home! 7th Avenue between 12th and 13th Streets
I met my BFF (who shall remain nameless for privacy reasons) @ BOOM BOOM for a brazillian and brow cleanup. From there we wandered down 7th Ave, arm in arm, chit chatting away...
We ran into MORANDO, a cute bustling cafe with outdoor seating. the service was slow with warm water, but once the wine came we started to relax into a wonderful evening.
i highly reccomend the blistered peppers, sausage stuffed olives and the octopus. All were to die for and were perfect appetizers to snack on while enjoying our each others company. Although our waiter seemingly had no personality we had a totally different experience with the rest of the staff on our way out when we went inside to use the restroom. I give it a thumb's up! MORANDO IS LOCATED ON 7th avenue @ Waverly Place. TIP: checkout the penthouse apartment across 7th... the outdoor duplex rooftop terrace is AMAZING!
We strolled down a bit further and found ourselves @ SMALLS jazz club. How I have lived in Manhattan since 1990 and never been there I will never understand... but GO GO GO! This joint was jumpin' and filled with Jazz enthusiasts... the bartendress made a pretty mean Manhattan as well.
After two bands and three sets we decided to call it a night... but this was a night to remember!

Astor Hair - A Blast from the Past
Went with a friend to get a haircut at Astor Hair. What a trip! Older women getting highlights with the "cap"... remember those things? It came with a "hook" to pull the hair strands out of the holes... who knew they even made those things anymore?? Chicks getting faux-hawks and blow outs... stop by next time you're in the neighborhood. You won't regret it!

Shake Shack in Madison Square Park
Walking to the train on this grey "looks like snow" evening, I stumbled upon Madison Square Park. To my surprise, the Shake Shack was OPEN! Ahh... wouldn't that be delicious? Nah... I thought... but then, "Why not?!?" It is a perfect day for a Shake Shack burger! There was no line! I walked up to the menu to read the Shack burger, $4.75. (What a bargain!) Comes with American cheese, lettuce, tomato, pickle and Shack sauce (whatever that is?). Then below it reads, "cheeseburger, $4.25, let us know if you want lettuce, tomato, pickle or onion". Heck yea! I just saved myself fifty cents! I got my buzzy vibration thingy and sat down under a heater with anticipatory delight...
