Vietnamese Delight
Stroll down 12th street west of 5th for the most delicious sandwich in town. Daily specials include pork belly and mackerel, all served up on fresh crunchy doughy bread, shredded carrot, cucumber and spicy sauce. See if you can make it two blocks to union square park to eat it. If not, don't worry, there is seating on the premises.

Surprise girls night out!
Firstly, run to BOOM BOOM BROW BAR for a wax and a tint. they do it all! Propriortess Melynda run this great vibe salon and has a mucho fabulous staff. You will become a loyal customer after just one visit... there's no place like home! 7th Avenue between 12th and 13th Streets
I met my BFF (who shall remain nameless for privacy reasons) @ BOOM BOOM for a brazillian and brow cleanup. From there we wandered down 7th Ave, arm in arm, chit chatting away...
We ran into MORANDO, a cute bustling cafe with outdoor seating. the service was slow with warm water, but once the wine came we started to relax into a wonderful evening.
i highly reccomend the blistered peppers, sausage stuffed olives and the octopus. All were to die for and were perfect appetizers to snack on while enjoying our each others company. Although our waiter seemingly had no personality we had a totally different experience with the rest of the staff on our way out when we went inside to use the restroom. I give it a thumb's up! MORANDO IS LOCATED ON 7th avenue @ Waverly Place. TIP: checkout the penthouse apartment across 7th... the outdoor duplex rooftop terrace is AMAZING!
We strolled down a bit further and found ourselves @ SMALLS jazz club. How I have lived in Manhattan since 1990 and never been there I will never understand... but GO GO GO! This joint was jumpin' and filled with Jazz enthusiasts... the bartendress made a pretty mean Manhattan as well.
After two bands and three sets we decided to call it a night... but this was a night to remember!

Thank you, STARBUCKS!
Okay, so I am so proud to be a NY'er my entire adult life and I just found out something I didn't know that I didn't know...
STARBUCKS gives REFILLS! Oh yes, for 50 cents you can bring an old, dirty, STARBUCKS cup to any store and ask for a refill for 50 cents!
How awesome is that??? I have been toting around my last cup with me daily for about a week now... LOL
Even the delis charge $1 to $1.50 for a small cup of coffee, as to the street carts... so even though the first cup is NOT 50 cents, if you get enough refills... you do the math! Thanks for another unexpected gift from New York City!!!
